Welcome to the Palm Springs Public Safety web site.
The Public Safety Department provides all emergency services to the Village of Palm Springs. This includes all Police and Fire-Rescue emergency services. We are the Primary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) and 911 communications center for this area. The Department is structured with the Office of the Public Safety Director with two Divisions for Police Services: the Patrol Division and the Support Services Division; and the Fire-Rescue Department. The department currently has a fulltime staff of over 70 including about 50 sworn officers.

It is the policy of the Palm Springs Public Safety Department that providing services with a Community Orientation is an effective way of delivering police and fire-rescue operations to residents, including safeguarding our citizens, suppression of crime and improvement of cooperation between law enforcement, fire-rescue and community components.

Wherever possible, the strategy of Community Oriented Services, along with pro-active, problem oriented tactics, will be employed by the Department in its Law Enforcement and Fire-Rescue missions. It is the intent of the Palm Springs Public Safety Department to shift available resources from reactive, incident-driven systems to pro-active, Problem Oriented/ Community Oriented Models, in order to provide the highest possible level of Law Enforcement and Fire-Rescue services to the Village of Palm Springs.
