The Patrol Division is responsible for the Uniformed Patrol Unit, the Criminal Investigations Unit, the Community Policing Unit, and the Communications Unit. All Sworn Police Officers from this department are members of this Division.

The Division is headed by a Commander with the rank of Captain. In addition, the Division has a Dayshift Watch Commander and a Nightshift Watch Commander with each at the rank of Lieutenant.

All patrol teams make up the Uniform Patrol Unit and they comprise the most visible members of the department. These are the men and women that patrol our streets to ensure the safety and security of those we protect twenty four hours a day. The very important Community Policing Unit is part of Uniformed Patrol.

The Communications Unit conveys information to and from emergency personnel, the general public, public safety agencies, utilities, businesses and other personnel within the department.
