Village Clerk
Office Responsibilities
The Clerk’s Office is the keeper of the records for the village. The clerk and her staff are responsible for:
  • Serving as elections supervisor for municipal elections of mayor and council members
  • Preparing and preserving agendas and minutes for council meetings, council workshops, and planning and zoning boards
  • Preparing and preserving code enforcement special magistrate hearing dockets and all corresponding legal orders.
  • Serving as secretary to special magistrate and working closely with public safety and utilities code enforcement officers
  • Preserving all contracts, agreements, and laws for all village departments
  • Functioning as risk manager for the village’s property / liability insurance plans, as well as insurance liaison for all claims and lawsuits arising from these plans
  • Overseeing public records requests for timely response and compliance with all Sunshine State Laws
  • Handling all title company lien search requests for outstanding debts and code violations prior to real estate transactions for all properties within the village boundaries and / or the village’s water / sewer service areas
  • Providing Notary Public services for village documents and residents of Palm Springs
  • Preserving Palm Springs history through photos, news articles, and important village documents
